This little blurb is appearing at the top of each forum:
If just 5% of our daily readers and participants would donate $10 or $20 today, this FReepathon would be over by tomorrow. If you love using FR and think it's a worthwhile endeavor, please click the donate link today and help us keep it going strong. Thank you very much.
Pretty straightforward, that. How cool would it be to break the recent trend of these things going on and on and on?
In this recent dustup over the RFRA, I could count on coming to this board to find a multitude of viewpoints and more importantly, access to the truth. I might have msm playing in the background (including Fox News.) I can surf all over net net on my own. None of that gives me what is at my fingertips here.
Here we get to dig to the bottom of the thing; both from the sharing of the articles and the dissection and examination of what we are being told. RFRA is merely the latest example of why Free Republic is my go to site.
If you feel the same, please just go ahead and do the right thing. And make it a monthly. It'll make you feel good inside and we need all of that we can get.
We need to have the “Go Fund Me” enthusiasm similar to what is happening in Indiana and have this Freepathon challenge met in one day.
In the past, we have done it in a few days. Only recently has it dragged on for weeks. It shouldn’t be that way.
TO: The Knish Ping list -
Donations for a worthy cause are not the business of government. Whether it means helping someone who is on hard times or providing medical help, we need to take care of our own.
Government generosity is nothing of the kind. It is specious, self aggrandizing and, above all, controlling. The same is true of information. If we want a genuinely free flow of information and ideas we should be willing to pay for it.
I have been on this forum for nearly 20 years. I would genuinely be bereft without it. For purely selfish reasons I make a monthly pledge to FR. It is not much but it is consistent. I much prefer being a paying member of something as important to me as FR to being a free loader, depending on others to carry me.
Get it together. Become a true member of the team. Make a pledge and make it monthly.
Well said. Thanks for the ping out.
Become a “monthly” .. then you don’t have to worry about it.
Monthly BUMP!! Only way to go.
Damn straight!
This place has extraordinary value.
Awesome menus to navigate, some of the best thinkers I ever met and just the nicest people ever.
I have yet to meet a Freeper in person and not feel as if we should have met so much sooner.
Jim Robinson and John are the best.
Of course none of this would be possible without that magnificent man, Jim Thompson!
I generally donate each quarter and JR makes me laugh when he gives trolls and bumbs a ride on The Lightning Express and makes me laugh at some zottifications I tend to pump more loot in.
Heck, I pay to see movies, plays and the ballet and I always feel fuller intellectually and spiritually from you guys.
I imagine many others experience something similar and we should chip in to help pay for, at least, our entertainment.
As I commented with my donation. . . a day without FR is like a day without sunshine . . .even when the news is gloomy.
A Wonderful Timely Tie in!
Since I’ve paid off all my credit cards and refuse to use them. How about a mailing address so I can send a check?

Saturday bump for do it now!
I make a small monthly contribution, and have donated many thousands of hours of my time.
Freerepublic is one of the most valuable places on the web to find information, and to find good analysis of it.
While freerepublic exists, there is a base for resistance, and a hope to overcome those who desire an overwhelmingly powerful state.
Monthly donors (and the Class of ‘98) ROCK!
Saturday afternoon bump. Let’s get this thing over with.
Thanx
I know the old joke but this time it’s really true, “The check is in the mail”.
Good to hear.
Easter Sunday bump.
Seventh day bump
